  • Discuss Clem’s relationship with her dad. Could you identify with any of Fountaine family pressures?
  • Clem had a love at first sight experience with Rico. Do you believe in this? Why or why not?
  • Clem always felt like a fish out of water, not truly comfortable in Maine, or California. Did you identify with this feeling? Do you ever feel this way?
  • Compare your summer experience to the teens in The Space Between Me and You. Which character’s summer is the most like your own? The most different?
  • Clem is fabulous at getting herself into cringy situations. What’s the scene that gave you the biggest ick? Want to share a cringy moment of your own?
  • The Space Between Me and You followed the seasons. Which season of the novel did you like best: rhubarb, strawberry, blueberry, apple, or lime? Why?
